Our History

After beginning in 1999 under the name 'The Contract Studio,' designer Lisa Miller and architect Herman Weist founded encompas in 2006 to provide better modular office interior solutions in collaboration with the Architecture & Design community.

From the very beginning, encompas has been a Preferred Haworth dealership. Headquartered in Kansas City, and with offices in Wichita and Omaha, encompas provides workplace furniture solutions for companies large and small. As a result of its ongoing partnership with several corporate and government clients, encompas has developed and expanded its national reach, and has completed projects in almost all 50 States.

encompas is a recipient of numerous awards, including Haworth’s “Best In Class” dealership award every year since the program began (one of three dealerships in the nation to do so), as well as Kansas City’s Top Ten Small Business of the Year, and Women’s Business Enterprise national certification by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Our philosophy of “Listen. Interpret. Solve” is what sets encompas apart. Our goal with every client is to foster a collaborative effort and create a solution that is tailored to solve your workspace challenges while also supporting the agreed upon budget and interior aesthetic goals.

We start each project by listening to you to learn about your business, understand your goals, and discover who you are, what you do, and how you do it. Only then can we start to understand the needs of your office environment.

 

Interpret.

Our experience and passion gives us the ability to then interpret your needs through the lens of office interiors. We intertwine current product offerings from our 200+ manufacturer lines with workplace research and trends to communicate possible solutions to your office interior goals. We also advise you on how different designs and products could help you solve any issues in space planning, ergonomics, sustainability, LEED, audio or visual privacy, culture, & productivity to make your space the best it can be for your people.

We hold ourselves accountable for making sure your project is installed on time, in budget, and with the utmost attention to quality. Our project leads and project managers triple check the accuracy of orders and specifications, the timeliness of truck delivery schedules, and the quality of installation to be on top of any issues that may arise and solve them quickly and painlessly. Our dedicated service team ensures that punch list and warranty items are taken care of immediately and continue to provide you with any necessary repairs and support long after the initial installation is complete.
